PlayFlix Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account data: your name, email address and password (stored in hashed form).
• Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number — we keep only the subscription information needed to manage your plan (such as plan, status, and the card brand and last digits provided by Stripe).
• Profiles and preferences: the profiles you create and the preferences you select, such as favorite genres and streaming services.
• Cloud connection data: the credentials or tokens needed to connect your cloud storage account and the file metadata required to build and play your catalog.
• Technical and usage data: device and browser information, IP address, log data, and analytics events about how you use PlayFlix.
• Support messages: the information you include when contacting our support team.

How we use your information

• Provide and operate the service: connect your storage, build your catalog and stream your library to your devices.
• Manage your subscription: free trial, recurring billing through Stripe, payment issues and plan changes.
• Personalize your experience based on your profiles and preferences.
• Communicate with you: service and billing emails, verification codes and support replies.
• Monitor, debug and improve performance, reliability and product decisions (analytics).
• Protect PlayFlix and its users against fraud, abuse and security incidents, and comply with legal obligations.

Payments and Stripe

All payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details are sent directly to Stripe and are subject to Stripe's own privacy policy. We receive from Stripe only what is needed to manage your subscription, such as payment status and a card identifier (brand and last digits).

How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• service providers that help us operate PlayFlix (such as payment processing, cloud infrastructure, email delivery and analytics), under contractual obligations to protect your data;
• authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the service;
• a successor entity, in case of merger, acquisition or asset sale — we will notify you if this changes how your data is handled.

Catalog information such as covers and synopses comes from third-party metadata sources; those sources do not receive your personal data.

Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it longer (for example, billing and tax records). Technical logs are kept only for as long as necessary for security, debugging and service improvement.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You can also cancel your subscription at any time.

Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond promptly to incidents.

International transfers

Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. When that happens, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.

Children's privacy

PlayFlix is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact support so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, we will notify you.
